Model-fashion blogger Lauren Scruggs appeared Thursday in London on “The Today Show,” making her first public appearance since losing her left eye and left hand after walking into the propeller of a plane.

“I know a lot of people have been following the story … and it’s good to be out in public as I am, letting people know I’m OK,” Scruggs, 24, said, updating her progress since surviving the accident that happened in Dallas just before Christmas.

“I’m feeling good,” she revealed. “Physically, it’s good that I’m off all my pain meds and all medication. I haven’t had pain since January, so that’s a blessing.

“And emotionally, days are hard sometimes, just accepting the loss of my eye and hand, but it just gets better,” she said. “I realize God’s in control of my life and there’s a purpose… Spiritually I learned to live by faith, not sight.”

The accident has given her a new perspective on life, and Scruggs explained that she wanted to go to the Olympics because she was inspired by the athletes’ strength and courage — and even got a surprise hug this morning from gold medalist Gabby Douglas. Watch the Interview Above.
