Even for British fans of Joan Rivers, one subject should remain off limits.
“If you ever want to go to Paris, fly don’t take the tunnel,” Rivers quipped on the show.
Of course, the comment was based on the late-Princess’ death in 1997 after her car crashed in a tunnel during a high-speed car chase.
The joke seemingly shocked her fellow hosts, Brits Kelly Osbourne and Cat Deeley.
However, friends say that Rivers doesn’t hold back and that is what made her famous.
“Joan is not one of those people that censors herself,” Rob Shuter, host of “Naughty but Nice” on AXS Live and a friend of Rivers, told ABCNews.com. “If she thinks it’s funny, she’s going to say it.”
That, of course, won’t appease some viewers.
“There are plenty of other subjects to make fun about in a show about fashion,” British viewer Andrew Henry told the Daily Star magazine. “But that was one step too far. Cruel, vicious and disgusting.”
