Paul DelVecchio, aka Pauly D of “Jersey Shore” fame, is officially the head of a multi-million dollar music empire.
In a new listing of best-paid DJs, Forbes reports that Pauly D pulled in a cool $11 million last year, and ranking in the seven spot on the magazine’s list. According to the publication, a lot changes after he was cast in the MTV reality show. Before the series-which was launched in 2009-the star “spent the bulk of his nights and weekends DJing small clubs in Providence for a few hundred dollars a pop.”
Now, the combination of his television show, products and earning $40,000 a show from club gigs and parties, Pauly D is pocketing some serious Benjamins.
“Everybody was skeptical at first, because how everybody heard about me is probably from Jersey Shore,” he said in an interview. “But now I’m six seasons deep in the show and I’ve been touring all over the country, touring with major pop acts and stuff like that. That legitimizes everything, and they’re starting to say, ‘This kid isn’t just a reality star, he’s an actual DJ.’”
