La Toya Jackson is allowing cameras into her private life in “Life with La Toya,” a new reality series set to air on OWN, the Oprah Winfrey Network.
“Life with La Toya” will focus on the outspoken Jackson juggling the demands of her famous family, friends and growing an entertainment business empire. “I am so pleased to be working with television legend Oprah Winfrey and to be a part of the OWN family,” Jackson says in a statement. “This will be one of the most exciting adventures of my life.”
The “Celebrity Apprentice” alum isn’t the first Jackson sibling to star in a reality show. Jermaine, Jackie, Tito and Marlon Jackson appeared in the A&E docuseres “The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty.”
Premiering in 2013, “Life with La Toya” joins new programs “The Customer is Always Right,” a reality “experiment” with customers as the boss, and “Neighborvention,” where communities come together to assist neighbors in crisis, the network announced on Thursday.
“We’ve laid the ground work at OWN with Oprah’s popular series and now it’s time to build on that success with these brand new shows,” says Erik Logan, president, OWN. “Our viewers want to be entertained, to laugh and to have an ‘aha’ moment,” adds Sheri Salata, president, OWN. “We are confident our new programming is delivering on that promise, infusing the core values of the Oprah brand into everything we put on the air.”
Additionally, OWN revealed which celebrities will be featured on the upcoming season of “Oprah’s Next Chapter.” Joining Winfrey on the intimate interview series are Stephen Colbert from his hometown in Charleston, South Carolina, Bette Midler at her home in New York City, Jennifer Hudson, and Kelsey Grammer and his wife Kayte.
