The upcoming edition of “Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars” will have to figure out how to survive without Joey Lawrence.
The actor, who finished third on his season on the dance competition, isn’t happy with the cast returning to the new season of the ABC show. According to US Weekly, he called out some of the celebrity dancers who did decide to come back for another go-around.
“One mirror ball is enough,” Lawrence said to the magazine. “[2006 'DWTS' champ] Emmitt [Smith]‘s doing it again. He’s got two Super Bowl rings, maybe he needs two mirror balls. Why would you put [six] winners in there, ABC? What are you doing?” he said referring to returning champs such as Helio Castroneves, Shawn Johnson, Drew Lachey, Apolo Anton Ohno and Kelly Monaco that agreed to return.
Lawrence said he was invited back to the show but didn’t think twice about turning down producers.
“I didn’t want to do it. Why the hell would you do it again and go up against people who didn’t win who now can win?” he said. “It was a lot of fun, but I don’t need to go back.”
The new season will return on September 25.
