Beloved quiz show host Alex Trebek was back on the set of “Jeopardy” Tuesday in Los Angeles, where he resumed tapings of the show for the new season that starts in September.
Trebek, 71, suffered a heart attack just about a month ago. And while the severity of the event has never been disclosed, reports at the time had him being rushed to the emergency room at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A.
Officials from “Jeopardy” made the announcement Tuesday that Alex had returned to work. They even provided a photo — the one seen here — to show how well Alex looks today.
Nevertheless, Trebek’s heart scare alarmed millions of “Jeopardy” fans who, for the first time, had cause to wonder who on Earth would take over the show if, heaven forbid, Alex was unable to continue.
Trebek is the consummate quiz-show host, and “Jeopardy” is the consummate quiz show, whose complicated clues and answers in the form of questions make the job of “Jeopardy” host one of the most challenging on TV.
