Jennifer Jason Leigh has been cast in a pivotal recurring role on ABC’s “Revenge,” according to “Access Hollywood.”

Leigh has nabbed the juicy part of Emily Thorne’s suddenly un-dead mother. In the bombshell season finale, viewers learned that Amanda Clarke’s mom, whom Amanda/Emily believed died when she was a child, is, in fact, alive.

How Em’s mother may be connected to the Graysons’ conspiracy that ruined her father’s name and ultimately resulted in his murder, and just where the heck she’s been for the last 20 years, will certainly fuel the Season 2 storyline.

“What you’re going to discover about the woman who was Emily’s mother is the circumstances under which they were separated, and you’re going to find that there’s some deep psychological issues with her, which I think is going to be fun for us to explore,” series creator Mike Kelley previously told Entertainment Weekly of the twist.

Leigh was mostly recently seen on TV playing the sister of pot mama Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker) on Showtime’s “Weeds.”
