Ed Helms was once a Chick-fil-A fan, but is no longer.
The star of “The Office” and “The Hangover” has issues with the restaurant chain’s stance against homosexuality and told his Twitter followers that he will no longer buy food from the fast food joint.
Helms tweeted: “Chick-Fil-A doesn’t like gay people? So lame. Hate to think what they do to the gay chickens! Lost a loyal fan.”
Chick-fil-A boasts more than 1,600 restaurants and pulls in $4 billion in revenue, according to Yahoo! But the company’s president Dan Cathy recently commented that his company was fighting gay marriage.
“Guilty as charged,” Cathy said in a radio interview. “We are very much supportive of the family—the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that.”
He also noted that “I think we are inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at him and say, ‘We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage.’ I pray God’s mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about.”
