“Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara shook up not only the ABC comedy series, but apparently her bank as well.
Forbes magazine ranked the actress at the top of its annual list of best paid actresses on television with Vergara reportedly pulling in a cool $19 million stemming from her role on the show as well as endorsement and licensing deals she has drawn. (Stars such as Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears, although tied to “American Idol” and “The X Factor” respectively, weren’t considered TV actresses in the rankings.) According to the magazine, the Latin star drew around $12 million in English as well as Spanish endorsement deals in the past year.
Number two on the list is Kim Kardashian, with a not-to-shabby $18 million payday fro May 2011 to May 2012. That was bolstered not only by her deal with E!, but through Kim’s endorsement of diet, beauty and lifestyle brands.
“Desperate Housewives” may by gone, but Eva Longoria took the third position on the list at $15 million, with checks from the ABC series as well as via deals with L’Oreal and Pepsi Next as well as sales of her cookbook, fragrances and other movie roles.
