We were surprised by some of the “results” segments on “America’s Got Talent” Wednesday night on NBC as the show’s producers made it impossible to guess who would stay and who would go.

Check out the first elimination segment — above — to see what we mean. Spoiler alert: What happened? Of the two performers on stage to learn their fates — Tim Hockenberry and a performer named Turf — neither were eliminated. That was a surprise to us, since we always assumed it was a given that someone would be eliminated in these “results” segments. Well, you learn something new everyday watching “AGT” …

Meanwhile, in the second elimination segment (spoiler alert), the opposite happened.

Watch the segment here:

If you just watched the clip, then you know: All four acts on stage got sent home. For the record, they were the acts known as All Ways, the Lisa Clark Dancers, Aurora Light Painters and Big Barry, a diminutive singer. “AGT” judge Howard Stern was particularly harsh on him, comparing him to Sanjaya Malakar on “American Idol.” “You’re like herpes,” Stern told Big Barry, “the act just doesn’t go away.”

In the third elimination, a comedian — Tom Cotter — beat out a magic act, Hawley Magic, and a dance troupe called LionDanceMe.

In the fourth elimination clip, a crossbow sharpshooter was sent home.
