Actor Robert Blake made an appearance Wednesday night on “Piers Morgan Tonight,” where he exploded at the CNN host after he insinuated that he was a liar.

Blake stopped by the program to promote his new memoir, Tales of a Rascal, and wanted to focus on his Hollywood career, a child star who debuted in the “Little Rascals” and later became known for the TV series “Baretta.”

Morgan, of course, was much more interested in the actor’s notorious 2005 acquittal for the murder of his wife Bonnie Lee Bakley, who was shot to death in 2001. Blake did later lose a civil suit and was found liable for her death.

Defiant and defensive in a black cowboy hat with his arms crossed, Blake went off on Morgan when he asked about the murder case and said he wasn’t sure that the actor was telling the truth.

“Well, tell me where I’m lying, because if you don’t know I’m telling you the truth, then you must have a little scratch in the back of your head about where I’m lying. Tell me where I’m lying. … You said I might not be telling the truth. What the hell is the difference?”

While Blake thinks the subject of Bakely’s death is “boring as hell,” he admitted that wherever he goes, “everybody wants to put me on the stand.”

When Morgan insisted his wife’s slaying was worth discussing because it must have been the most significant thing to ever happen to him, Blake disagreed. “The most significant thing in my life is when I was two years old and I find an audience.”

Morgan then asked Blake about his relationship with Bakely before she died. The couple married six months before her death while she was pregnant with his child, but Blake said he did not love her, that he did not know her well enough to love her.

After Morgan pressed him about Bakely’s reputation, Blake called his late wife “a con artist,” saying she wanted to be a movie star who came to Hollywood and tried to scam her way into showbiz and even “tried to hustle Christian Brando.” Blake added, “Bonnie had people that she burned.”

The bizarre interview nearly reached Charlie Sheen’s “winning!” phase of madness, with other outbursts like one directed to the “rotten bastard” cops, who “ripped my guts out and left me beside the road to die.”

But Blake made it clear that he was not happy with the line of questioning, giving Morgan a rather hilarious ultimatum.

“I’ve never allowed anybody to ask me the questions that you’re asking,” Blake said. “I allowed you to do that because I trust you. And I would have assumed that you and that guy in your ear would trust me [presumably referring to the producer]. And if you don’t, then we’d better start talking about ‘The Little Rascals.’”
