Two decades after Johnny Depp cut out his career around quirky film roles and a longtime partnership with director Tim Burton, the movie star is reviving one of his most memorable characters.

Depp will reprise his “Edward Scissorhands” character for an upcoming episode of “Family Guy,” reports Entertainment Weekly.

Depp already recorded his stint voicing Edward for a brief cameo that will appear in one of the show’s cutaway gags.

“When he was in the booth, he said that he felt like he hadn’t done that voice since he did it in front of the camera,” said “Family Guy” executive producer Mark Hentemann, according to EW. “He was able to snap right back into Edward Scissorhands once we pulled up a clip from the movie.”

“He was amazing — and demonstrated extraordinary patience with all the fawning women in our office who swarmed him,” Hentemann added.

Season 11 of “Family Guy” premieres Sunday, Sept. 30 on Fox.
