Kristin Chenoweth was rushed to the hospital Wednesday after an accident on the Brooklyn set of “The Good Wife.”
According to TMZ, the actress was struck by a piece of lighting equipment and fell to the ground, hitting her head on the concrete.
Chenoweth, 43, was taken away by ambulance and admitted to a nearby hospital, says TMZ.
CBS Television Studios confirmed the incident in a statement:
“While filming a scene for The Good Wife in Brooklyn, a gust of wind blew a lighting silk out of place striking actress Kristin Chenoweth. She received treatment on the scene by the show’s medic until a New York Fire Department emergency medical team arrived and transported her to the hospital. All of us at the studio and the show are thinking about Kristin and wishing her a quick recovery.”
A witness described the incident to TMZ, saying Chenoweth was struck “square in the head” and appeared to be “knocked out cold,” adding, “I thought she was dead at first.”
A 911 call was placed from the set just after 5 p.m. and later a spokesperson for the New York Fire Department confirmed to TMZ that someone from the set was being treated for “minor injuries” but would not identify them.
Chenoweth was in New York filming a guest starring role on the upcoming fourth season of the CBS drama, in which she’ll appear as a political journalist in a multiple episode storyline.
