‘America’s Got Talent’: Howard and Howie Spar Over Tiny Singer

As 12 hopefuls performed in the quarterfinals of “America’s Got Talent,” the competition — and the judges — are getting serious.

And one contestant caused a big rift between the two Howards: “70-year-old teenager” Big Barry, who’s all of 4′ 10″, belted out “Feeling Good,” surrounded by a bevy of beauties.

Howard Stern and Sharon Osbourne “X” out the pint-sized performer, who’s not a very good singer but is an entertaining character.

But Howie Mandel loved the act, saying Big Barry would be the result “if Bob Dylan and the Easter Bunny had a baby…” and thinks he’s “an incredible novelty act.”

“Come on!” Stern said. He strongly disagreed interrupting Howie, “I gotta stop you. The Howie filibuster is getting annoying to me, actually,” he said. “You know, Big Barry, this isn’t about you. This is about Howie and how he treats the show and this is about the apology you owe to Flo Jo ‘s daughter, to Andrew De Leon, and all the people that could have gotten through instead of Big Barry. You ruined their chance… There was a ton of people with more talent than Big Barry!”

Other acts who stood out as the judges’ favorites include contortionist/dancer Turf, acrobatic couple Donovan and Rebecca, stand-up comic Tom Cotter, 14-year-old singer Danielle Stallings and singer Tim Hockenberry.
