Rumors went white hot last week that “Saturday Night Live” head writer and Weekend Update anchor Seth Meyers was at the front of the line to replace Regis Philbin as the new co-host of “Live with Kelly.”

The Orlando Sun-Sentinel asked Meyers about his seemingly-imminent move from late night to morning and whether or not he was going to take the gig.

“No, no, no, no, no,” Meyers answered, telling the newspaper that he has zero interest in departing the longtime NBC series at this point in time. “I know [Regis'replacement] is a very important thing down there. But, right now, what I would say to you: I’m really in love with the job I have. I’m very excited to be going back [to “SNL”] for the election season, which is always fun.”

Meyers is currently filling in as a guest co-host with Ripa this week, and reports suggested that the appearance was in reality a final audition for the hosting job.

Other potential co-hosts that were rumored to be a part of the mix included Michael Strahan and singer Josh Groban.
