George Lopez’s dating-reality show “Take Me Out” won’t get dumped onto low-rated Saturdays after all.

TV Guide is reporting here that the show’s performance in the ratings this past Thursday was enough to earn it a reprieve, with Fox deciding to continue airing it on Thursdays until it ends its run in a few weeks.

Just days before this past Thursday’s episode, Fox took a look at the ratings for the previous week — total viewership of 2.3 million — and decided to “reschedule” (translation: banish) the remainder of the “Take Me Out” episodes to Saturday nights, when viewing levels are at their lowest, particularly in the summer.

But according to the TV Guide story, the ratings this past Thursday night were just good enough to earn a reprieve for the show, which premiered June 7. And for now at least, Fox has decided to keep the dating-reality-game show hybrid on Thursday nights at 8/7c.

For the record, viewership for “Take Me Out” this past Thursday was 3.09 million for the 8-9 hour (7-8c), an increase of 700,000 viewers in one week.
