Fashion is fierce, but the upcoming tenth season of “Project Runway” is apparently so intense it has at least two contestants coming apart at the seams.

A new crop of fashion designers began filming Season 10 last week at Parsons School for Design in New York and by week’s end, two contestants were out of the competition after one had a meltdown and one ran away!

Sources tell The New York Post that a male designer “had an episode” on Friday that led producers to bring in a psychologist to talk to him. Unable to calm his nerves, “it was decided he should leave the show.”

But he wasn’t the only contestant freaking out during filming.

Earlier in the day, a female designer “disappeared” from the set.

“She just ran off in the middle of the night,” an insider tells The Post. “The next morning she wasn’t in her bed, her suitcase was gone. Producers went to her home, and her doorman said she was upstairs but didn’t want to see anyone.”

The woman was reportedly “paranoid” after landing in the bottom of the Runway challenge.

“We lost two designers in one day. This has never happened,” the source tells The Post. “They seem to be under a lot more pressure.”

After the back-to-back incidents, “Runway” judge Michael Kors, who’s always good for a giggle, was brought in for a visit with the designers to “calm them down and give them a pep talk.”

How the show will handle the unexpected early departures is unknown at this time; Lifetime has not commented on the story.

The new season of “Project Runway” premieres July 19 at 9/8c on Lifetime.
