Right-leaning firebrand Glenn Beck complained that “Glee” is an overly permissive “nightmare” of a TV series with “no values” — and he vowed to fight the show with a musical series of his own that will espouse conservative values.

Beck provided few details about his new TV project — such as what network would air it — but said the musical aspects of the series would be guided by a rap music star who he did not name.

The conservative commentator made his comments about “Glee” in a speech he delivered at a conference in Washington held by the Faith & Freedom Coalition. The story was reported here in the New York Daily News.

“It’s horrifying some of the things that they’re teaching high schoolers,” Beck said, referring, presumably, to the show’s frank treatment of sexual issues, including homosexuality. “But it’s brilliantly done. It’s produced brilliantly. Its music, brilliant. Its acting, brilliant. Its cinematography, brilliant. All of it!”

He described the characters on “Glee” as “somebody that your kids want to be like,” the Daily News story said. “Except everybody is sleeping with everybody else. There’s no values. It’s all self-gratification. It’s a nightmare.”

He then vowed to produce a show that is just as enjoyable to watch, but one that would emphasize conservative values.
