Justin Bieber took over the plaza on “The Today Show” Friday morning to the delight of thousands of delirious fans, some of whom began lining up for their spot three days ago.
As the massive crowd of mostly little girls screamed and screamed, Matt Lauer asked The Biebs if his eventual transition from teen sensation to grown-up artist scares him.
“I’m 18 and I have a lot of insecurities,” Bieber said. “At the end of the day, being in my position doesn’t get rid of those insecurities. I think [the album] is about proving people wrong and going out there and making good music and going out there and performing better than everyone else.”
Meanwhile, Matt Lauer couldn’t help but catch “Bieber Fever” and even found the “Power of Bieber” inspired him to join Twitter.
But Bieber promptly hijacked Lauer’s very first Tweet — to promote his new album. Newsflash: The album is out Tuesday, June 19, and his upcoming Believe tour kicks off his Sept. 29.
