The upcoming ninth season of “The Dog Whisperer” will be its last, Nat Geo confirmed Wednesday.

Cesar Millan made the announcement to fans on his Facebook page.

“I am so thankful to all the Dog Whisperer fans that embraced the show over the years and made it such a huge success,” said Cesar. “It was bittersweet filming the final episodes, but they are a lot of fun and turned out to be some of the best cases ever. And to my biggest fans, never fear, you haven’t seen the last of me yet!”

The final season of 12 new episodes will debut this summer and will feature such highlights as four Olympic-sized episodes set in London; visits with celebs Kelsey Grammer, Jillian Michaels and Playboy king Hugh Hefner; as well as NASCAR Drivers Greg Biffle and Kevin Harvick, according to the press release.

While we’ll miss our favorite whisperer, there will be no shortage of pooches in prime-time, including CBS’ recent debut “Dogs in the City.”

The final season premieres with back-to-back episodes on Saturday, July 7, beginning at 8/7c on Nat Geo WILD.
