We knew it was coming, but it was just a matter of which pageant
brat princess would get her own show? (Our bet was placed on diva-doll MacKenzie.)
And now, “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo“!
TLC announced Thursday its first “Toddlers & Tiaras” spinoff, which will feature six-year-old beauty queen Alana Thompson.
Viewers were first introduced to Alana, aka “Honey Boo Boo,” in January, when the hyper “Tiaras” tot became a breakout star, of sorts, for screaming phrases such as “a dolla makes me holla!” and “I’m rich!” and “I’m sassy!”
This summer, TLC will air six half-hour episodes of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” giving viewers “an inside look at Alana’s world” that will prove “she is more than just a Go-Go Juice-drinking beauty queen.”
And look out world, because Alana’s world beyond the tiara features a “loud and crazy” family from rural Georgia, who enjoys “four-wheeling through mud pits and picking up road kill for the family cookout,” according to the release. The clan, who also have sugar-coated nicknames, includes stay-at-home mom June, chalk-mining dad “Sugar Bear,” and sisters 12-year-old “Pumpkin” (Lauryn), 15-year-old “Chubbs” (Jessica), and the 17-years-old and pregnant Anna (“Chickadee”).
“Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” premieres August 8 on TLC.
