Dancing with the Stars” pro Peta Murgatroyd has been rumored to be dating fellow pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy. And now, her celebrity partner Donald Driver has made things even more confusing by saying the gorgeous dancer is on a husband hunt!

The football player, who accidentally bloodied up Peta in rehearsal with his nails, said Monday he couldn’t mess up her pretty face because “she’s trying to find a husband.”

Reporters who were asking questions after their terrific cowboy freestyle routine were startled by the news.

And Donald elaborated, saying he’s already told Peta, “Won’t you just make me your bridesmaid? Make me stand right there and go” (the athlete made a skeptical face) “Let me make sure he’s good. I’ll make sure he’s right.”

Peta joked to Donald, “Are you going to object, sit in the back?” He replied, “No. I’ll stand right behind you and look at him and be like, ‘you treat her wrong. Just wait. I’m going to get you.’ I’ve got your back. You know that!”

Now insiders are wondering–could Maks be a husband contender?

Recently, the US Weekly web site reported that Peta was romantically involved with Maks, who once was engaged to “DWTS” Karina Smirnoff and was eliminated from the show earlier this season with celeb partner Melissa Gilbert. But the day after the report appeared last week, Peta denied to xfinityTV that she was dating the ballroom bad boy. When asked if they were friends, however, Peta laughed, “we are very good friends.”

Previously, Peta’s boyfriend was dancer Damian Whitehead, whom DWTS fans will remember from Season 10 when he performed with Pamela Anderson.

While the rumors continue to swirl about Peta and Maks, we think she might be getting something sparkly on Tuesday night that’s almost as good as an engagement ring. That’s right. A mirror ball trophy!
