CBS has renewed “Rules of Engagement” for a seventh season, it was reported Monday. The show’s fate was one of the last question marks for The Eye’s fall schedule, after some drawn out negotiations.
But the network has decided to order 13 new episodes of the sitcom starring David Spade, Patrick Warburton and Oliver Hudson.
While it doesn’t have as much “Bang” in the ratings as some of CBS’ more high-profile comedies, “Rules” has been a quiet performer for the network, which has bounced the show around from slot to slot. The Season 6 finale ended with 7.3 million total viewers.
The new season of “Rules” will be on standby as a midseason replacement.
