Pop sensation Lady Gaga will help “The Simpsons” bring the curtain down on its 23rd season when she guest-stars as herself in the season finale.

On the show, Gaga turns up in Springfield to offer guidance and encouragement to Lisa Simpson, whose intellect and interests leave her friendless and ostracized at Springfield Elementary.

As you’ll see in the clip, Gaga was interviewed during the time she spent in an L.A. recording studio producing her voice work for the “Simpsons” version of herself. Series creator and boss Matt Groening is also seen in the clip, describing the process by which the real-life Gaga was transformed into the “Simpsons” version — a fascinating behind-the-scenes peek at how one of TV’s most revered series is produced.

“The Simpsons’ ” season finale airs Sunday, May 20, at 8 p.m./7c on Fox.
