“Life changes in an instant.”

That’s the ominous opening voice-over in Thursday’s Season 8 finale of “Grey’s Anatomy,” and ABC has released an extended preview of the episode, called “Flight” (which appears to be ripped right out of “Lost’s” playbook).

It’s been foreshadowed for weeks that someone’s going to die, — and it’s a “pretty big death,” according to showrunner Shonda Rhimes.

The shocking storyline took off in the final two minutes of last week’s penultimate episode when a plane carrying Derek, Meredith, Cristina, Mark, Lexie and Arizona CRASHED, leaving several of Seattle Grace staffers’ lives in jeopardy.

The terrifying opening scenes show the immediate chaotic aftermath of the crash in the middle of the Washington wilderness, with bloody screams, gruesome injuries and a missing McDreamy!

As a disoriented Meredith tries to comprehend what’s just happened, Yang, always the straight shooter, breaks it down for her:

“THE PLANE CRASHED. We were in a plane AND IT CRASHED!”

“Where’s Derek? Where is Derek?! Meredith cries.

Where IS Derek?! Sucked out of the plane. Wait. WHAT??? Watch the Clip Above!
