ABC Reveals New Fall Schedule, ‘Revenge’ Relocated

ABC announced Tuesday its plans for the new fall TV season, and the biggest news is the hit sudser “Revenge” is moving from Wednesdays to Sundays, inheriting the dearly departed “Desperate Housewives’s” primo timeslot at 9/8c.
They also confirmed the rumors that next season of “Dancing with the Stars” will be an “All-Stars” edition, featuring popular contestants from previous seasons.
The new Connie Britton (“Friday Night Lights”) musical drama “Nashville” takes “Revenge’s” place Wednesdays at 10/9c spot, while Shawn Ryan‘s submarine drama “Last Resort” lands the Thursdays at 8/7c lead-off spot, launching into back-to-back Shonda Rhimes dramas “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Scandal.”
One other interesting programming note is ABC’s plans to schedule two sitcoms on Fridays (in a way, attempting to revive its old “TGIF” comedy line-up from days of yore). Beginning in November, Tim Allen‘s “Last Man Standing” will be paired with Reba McEntire‘s new sitcom “Malibu Country” (“Shark Tank” moves to 9/8c) for a Friday night funnies face-off with NBC’s new comedy combo of “Whitney” and “Community.”
ABC is the third network to make its Upfronts presentation to advertisers this week in New York. Check out NBC’s new slate here and Fox’s fall unveiling here.
