LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) – Jon Stewart already announced his plans to cover the Democrats, and now the “Daily Show” host and his Comedy Central show cohorts have announced plans to broadcast a week of shows from the Republican National Convention in Tampa.

The Daily Show” will be taped at the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts in Ferguson Hall in Tampa from August 28-31, which marks the first time the Republican Convention has been held in Florida since 1972.

“We are incredibly excited to spend a week in the beautiful city of Tampa,” “Daily Show” executive producer Rory Albanese said in a statement. “We look forward to enjoying the beaches and the exciting nightlife, plus we assume this counts as a visit to our grandparents.”

Stewart and company will also tape a week of shows from ImaginOn: The Joe & Joan Martin Center in Charlotte September 4-7, to coincide with coverage of the Democratic National Convention.
