‘The Dictator’ Takes Over ‘Today,’ Taunts Matt Lauer

Want to see morning show pro Matt Lauer lose control of an interview on “The Today Show“?

This morning, guest Sacha Baron Cohen, dressed in character as Admiral General Shabazz Aladeen, a “Dictator” from a fictional Middle East country, was quite a handful for Lauer to try and interview.

“Aladeen” kicked off the chat by informing Lauer that he was holding his wife Annette hostage and pulled out a cluster of hair from his pocket as proof. Then he joked that he knew Matt was having an affair with Ann Curry.

Lauer tried to retaliate, asking about Aladeen’s relationships with Katy Perry, Megan Fox and Oprah Winfrey.

“Not relationships, just sex activity,” “The Dictator” shot back.

Aladeen also commended Lauer for handling the Ryan Seacrest situation, after the “American Idol” host “attempted to coup and take your job … well done for having him executed!” ["The Dictator" famously dumped an urn of ashes on Seacrest on the Oscars red carpet.]

While promoting “The Dictator,” which opens in theaters on May 16, Cohen also dropped by the Weekend Update anchor desk on this weekend’s “SNL.” See what havoc that brought below.
