We can now scratch one potential replacement for Regis Philbin off the list of likely co-hosts for “Live! With Kelly.”

While a plethora of names have graced the co-host chair on the daytime show, Kelly Ripa said in an interview with Vanity Fair that one name crossed off the list is her husband Mark Consuelos.

Although Consuelos has been a frequent replacement during Ripa’s run on the series, however that idea of working together in the show on a full-time basis opens a new can of worms.

“No one would make me happier than Mark, but he values our marriage and he says that he doesn’t see how we could stay married and both do that show,” she said in the Vanity Fair article that runs in the June 2012 issue.

She said that while the process of finding someone to replace Philbin has taken months so far, she understands the need for patience, having been part of the rotating audition process herself once Kathie Lee Gifford left the show.

“I’ve been through it from the other side,” Ripa told the Associated Press. “I sort of understand how it works, and what it is they’re looking for, and how this process can’t be rushed.”
