Gladys Knight was eliminated from “Dancing with the Stars” on Tuesday night but her other loss from the show couldn’t be more positive. The singing icon told reporters she lost 60 pounds while dancing.

“I’m going to keep calling Tristan to work me out,” she smiled backstage about her dance partner, Tristan MacManus.

Gladys said she combined dancing with a low-calorie gourmet eating plan called Freshology. The healthy diet included lots of fruit, power bars, and protein shakes.

But the weight loss was just one of the benefits from DWTS, the soul legend explained during her exit interview. “Everything that’s happened here has been all good. It’s like life!”

Gladys, 67, ended her run on the hit ABC reality show after her rumba got the lowest score on Monday’s Motown night, with 21 points. She and partner Tristan were also the first couple to be kicked off the floor during the dance marathon.

The singer ended up in Tuesday’s bottom two with Roshon Fegan, 21—and judges eliminated Gladys after deciding the actor bested her in the dance duel.

When asked by Xfinitytv if it was unfair to be compared to the Disney star in the quick jive dance, Gladys shrugged, “It didn’t really matter what dance they chose as long as you were able to put it together and execute. I thought we had a good dance and they felt that someone else did a better job of it.”

However, the singer said the DWTS experience couldn’t be beat, reflecting on “the knowledge that I have obtained, not just about dancing, but in getting to know different personalities and how they operate and carry themselves, how they operate under pressure. There are so many life lessons here.
“I will keep dancing!”

Obviously, Gladys will also keep singing, as she’ll be touring in America and Canada in the next month. Reporters hoped she’d come back to sing on the DWTS finale, but she said, “I don’t know. I haven’t asked them yet.”

Meanwhile, the beloved performer will stick to her simple philosophy: “I don’t care what it is—whether I’m talking to you or dancing or singing on stage, I’m going to always give you the best part of me.”
