‘Celebrity Apprentice’: A Frontrunner Gets Fired

The sweet smell of success did not permeate the Board Room Sunday night as there was no strong winner in this week’s challenge — and that sent home one of the “Celebrity Apprentice‘s” biggest competitors.

Aubrey O’Day and Clay Aiken were the project managers for the task, which was to create a Macy’s store promotion for Donald Trump’s new fragrance, Success.

With each display okay but not spectacular, the Macy’s execs ultimately handed Clay’s team the loss after his unsuccessful presentation and because they “hated” his team’s slogan (“You Earned It”), something that was Penn Jillette’s idea.

So with Trump facing the elimination of this season’s strongest players in Clay and Penn, or Board Room regular Dayana Mendoza, whom he says he’d “love” to fire because she’s been in there six times now, Trump went ahead and fired … Penn Jillette. Huh?

Well, that stinks. Watch Penn’s Surprising Firing Above.

“Celebrity Apprentice” airs Sundays at 8/7c on NBC.
