Saturday Night Live” has scored a sports super star.

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning will be hosting the show, promos revealed during this weekend’s episode.

Manning will lead the “SNL” team on the May 5 episode, featuring musical guest Rihanna.

The younger Manning QB won his second Super Bowl in February. He’s the fifth NFL quarterback to tackle hosting duties, following the lead of big brother Peyton Manning. Peyton was a hit when he hosted in 2007, as Eli cheered him on in the audience. The other QB-hosts were Fran Tarkenton, Joe Montana and Tom Brady, while there have been 34 sports figures overall who’ve hosted “SNL.”

Other unconventional stars on the “SNL” ticket may include Mitt Romney, as reports surfaced Sunday that the Republican frontrunner is mulling over an offer to host the iconic sketch show.
