The ladies of “The Talk” have a problem with fame, or at least Katy Perry’s feelings about it.
In the May issue of Teen Vogue, Perry was quoted as saying that all the media attention surrounding her divorce from actor Russell Brand was “a disgusting byproduct” of what she does.
She goes on to say that “I’m tired of being famous already. But I’m not tired of creating.”
That didn’t sit well with the hosts of the daytime show, who slammed the singer for her comments.
“She’s running around with cupcake boobs…I’m sorry you don’t get to complain later ‘Why is everybody looking at my boobs?’” said Aisha Tyler.
Of course, Sharon Osbourne put it more bluntly, stating “What are you doing you silly little girl?! You wanted it, you got it, now shut up!”
That got the attention of Perry, who took to Twitter to vent and explain that they didn’t understand her comments.
“O the joy of something verbally said being taking out of complete context in PRINT. This is why there’s a continuous ♥/☹ for the media world,” she tweeted.
“U see, the fame quote was spoken in jest (which is typical of me) BUT it’s not really about that. The fact is: my success, & u my fans have afforded me the most incredible luxury: to grow as an artist & a human. THAT, I could not be more grateful for.”
