Reality TV star Teresa Giudice has an issue with reality TV.
The central figure of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” and current contestant on “The Celebrity Apprentice” told Star magazine that the angst created on the series has hurt her life and damaged her family.
In the interview, she noted that her role on “Real Housewives” ruined personal relationships with family and friends, damaging her ties to castmates Caroline Manzo and Jacqueline Laurita, as well as her brother Joey Gorga.
“My ‘Housewives’ experience has completely changed,” she told Star. “Jacqueline and I had a wonderful relationship for about 10 years. We were great friends, but not anymore. It’s so sad. We actually went through a ‘friends divorce,’ which is so hard.”
She goes on to say that her “Real Housewives” gig cut even deeper, noting that she hasn’t talked to her brother in months, after her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga reportedly joined the series behind her back last season.
“I felt deceived,” she said, before adding, “I haven’t spoken to my brother since before Christmas. We haven’t gone this long without talking in my whole life! I’d have to say that reality TV ruined our family, and it’s a disgrace.”
So, how does the experience compare to being on “The Celebrity Apprentice”?
In an interview with US Weekly, she said that “Apprentice” was cattier, but actually easier to do.
“I did find ‘Apprentice’ being cattier [than 'Real Housewives'], because you’re with a bunch of people you’ve just met for the first time,” she said. “You really don’t care what the other person thinks of you and if you say something, you’ll just say it,” she continues. “I don’t know how much fun [doing the show] was, but after doing it, I don’t regret it.”
