Soap opera star Jack Wagner was eliminated from “Dancing with the Stars” after a strong Monday night performance inspired by his reunion with his long-lost daughter.

In a week devoted to the telling of personal stories, Jack’s seemed one of the most emotional, so it was a surprise he got the boot on Tuesday night’s Week 3 elimination show.

But backstage after learning his fate, Jack told Xfinitytv it was the scoring that did him in, as he and partner Anna Trebunskaya and four other couples tied for last at 24.

“It was a great ride. I think everybody was very close and it is what it is,” he sighed. Still, after all three judges had praised his Monday night samba, the former “General Hospital” and “Melrose Place” actor said he didn’t have a clue that his dancing days were done.

“I surely would have liked to have gone farther but this is a competition and this is how it landed and that’s life. I’m going to miss Anna and strapping it on every day,” Jack said. “You really have, every day, a goal to get through the day and try to get better. So, you got to carry that on now in real life. I’m sure there’s a fall out for a day or two.”

On Monday night, Jack told DWTS viewers that his biological daughter, Kerry, 23, who had been put up for adoption years ago, recently tracked him down. Their reunion has been emotional, and Tuesday night Jack said, “She was pretty upset” after watching his elimination from the DWTS audience.

Jack doesn’t know what he’ll do next. When asked if he’d reprise his role as Frisco Jones on GH, Jack said, “I have no idea. I’m just going to try to shed these [DWTS] clothes tonight and find Jack again. You just start over tomorrow.”
