Employees of the NBC series “Community” are reportedly taking sides in the Chevy Chase/Dan Harmon dispute that made headlines last week.

Early reports stated that Chase often clashed with series creator Harmon as well as other “Community” producers and writers over his scenes. The most recent blow-up between the pair reportedly resulted in Chase leaving the set on the last day of shooting without filming his final scene.

Now crew members are jumping to Chase’s defense, according to TMZ, particularly over the incident in which Harmon tried to lead a “F**k Chevy” in front of the actor’s wife and daughter at the show’s wrap party.

According to the site, a slew of staff feel the actor was unfairly attacked by Harmon. One crew member told TMZ that “What Dan Harmon did was f**ked up … Chevy is a pleasure to work with.”

The report states that Chase did have an issue with one of the scenes and asked for a rewrite in a “very calm and polite” manner, later telling producers that he would “respectfully decline” to participate in the scene unless a change was made. After producers turned down his request, Chase left the set without incident.

In fact, crew members thought that the tension had been resolved when Chase showed up at the party, and were “shocked when Harmon grabbed the mic and unloaded on the actor.”

“What Dan did was embarassing and left a sour taste in all of our mouths … so low class,” said one source to the site, before adding, “The staff was not pissed at Chevy … we’re pissed at Dan. We all hope Chevy comes back next season.”
