“DWTS” pro Tony Dovolani hasn’t had the best luck in partners in recent seasons.
He and tennis legend Martina Navratilova were the first eliminated couple this edition of “Dancing with the Stars.” Dovolani said earlier this week that he was “destroyed” over their early exit, but apparently he’s still shaking off the scars of another partner — his pairing a few seasons back with controversial reality star Kate Gosselin.
Tony and Martina appeared Friday on “Anderson,” where Anderson Cooper instigated the Gosselin gab, saying, “I always felt bad for you because you got stuck with Kate Gosselin … I remember watching her dance and I’m still traumatized by that experience.”
“Wait, wait, Anderson, did you just call it dance? We didn’t dance,” Dovolani said.
Cooper followed with, “Did you have to take a long vacation after that experience, Tony?”
“There was a lot of therapy involved,” Tony replied with a wide grin. (Gosselin’s turn on “DWTS” was memorably rife with meltdowns, tears and some seriously stiff “dancing.”) And it takes a lot to push Tony’s buttons, as he is one of the nicest, most patient dance pros on the show.
