They already have high-profile names like Kiefer Sutherland and Danny Glover in “Touch” but Fox is adding another star to the bill.
Maria Bello is joining the cast of the Fox drama for a multi-episode arc, according to Deadline.
Bello will play an “Earth-mother type” who has daughter that also plays the numbers game – sharing a gift similar to Martin’s autistic son Jake (David Mazouz).
She’ll have the option of being upgraded to a series regular for Season 2, assuming the series is renewed.
So far, the critical reception has been mostly positive for “Touch,” as have the ratings. Last night’s episode pulled in 11.7 million viewers, with a 3.2 rating in the adults 18-49 demo. That’s a slight dip from the show’s sneak preview premiere last month, but still solid, considering this year’s weak edition of “American Idol” isn’t doing “Touch” any service as its lead-in.
Bello was last seen on TV this fall in NBC’s adaptation of the British series “Prime Suspect,” which was canceled after producing 13 episodes.
