GSN Taps Foxworthy for ‘Bible,’ Adds Reality Programming

If Jeff Foxworthy is handing you a prize, you might be a Bible guru.

GSN has agreed with the comedian and game show veteran to host the new series “The American Bible Challenge,” according to various entertainment trade publications. The series is described as a game show that tests its contestants on their knowledge of scripture. The series will begin shooting this month. Of course, Foxworthy already hosted one successful game series in “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?

The network also announced, according to The Hollywood Reporter, that it is also developing reality series as well as an updated version of the classic pyramid game and is bringing Sherri Shepherd to host the sixth season of “The Newlywed Game.”

In the reality genre, the channel will move forward on cooking series “Beat the Chefs” and is developing reality series “Pure Gold” which will examine people looking to sell their valuables. In addition, new shows will include “I Do, Now I Don’t” which looks at a business that sells secondhand engagement rings; “The Family Trade” about a family whose dealership will trades cars for just about anything from pigs to coffins; and “Crowning Glory” that examines alternative pageants.
