With CBS daytime series “The Talk” now locked in for season three with the full cast in tow, former host Leah Remini took to Twitter today to tell fans that it was Sharon Osbourne who had her and Holly Robinson Peete fired from the show after the first season wrapped up. The reason? For being “ghetto.”
The bitter sentiments stem from an interview Osbourne did with Howard Stern several months ago, in which Osbourne said that “Some people don’t really know who they are and you have to know who you are when you’re in something like this,” when discussing Remini and Robinson Peete. Osbourne later said that she told Julie Chen that she didn’t think Peete and Remini were meshing well with the others on the show and that the chemistry with them in the mix was “weird”.
Now Remini is going public with her feelings, telling her Twitter followers that “she had us fired all the while calling me and holly her friend. heartbreaking.”
She explained that “Sharon thought me and Holly were “Ghetto”, (her words) we were not funny, awkward and didn’t know ourselves”
She goes on to note that “This kind of foolishness doesn’t usually happen between actors. which she (Osbourne) is not. Different kind of ppl.”
Remini is now in a pilot for a potential ABC series, and gave her fans with the lessons she took away from the experience.
“Yes, it is a heartbreaking lesson. You Live & learn. Now, we just move on.”
