Jennifer Lopez tried to save Jeremy Rosado from last night’s “American Idol” elimination. That’s what Jeremy told reporters today in a conference call.
“Jennifer came up to me and told me she wanted to keep me,” he said.
J. Lo had long championed Jeremy, and made him her wild card pick to go to the Finals when he didn’t garner enough votes from America.
Asked about the connection between the pair, Jeremy said, “I honestly believe it was just my heart. I laid my heart on my sleeve whenever I performed and I know she felt it.”
He said he hasn’t had any offers from . JLo yet, but would be thrilled if she wanted to mentor him, or even offer a guest spot on “Q’Viva.” He also said he is interested in pursuing a bilingual music career.
“I will forever be grateful to her for being on my side and for fighting for me at the last minute,” he said.

Despite a possibly bright future under the wing of J. Lo, Jeremy was “devastated” by the results. After the elimination, he said he cried a lot, prayed and called his family.
He said he thought his performance of Stevie Wonder’s “Ribbon in the Sky” was good enough to keep him on the show. “Nobody will ever be Stevie Wonder,” he said. “I was just hoping I could do my own thing with the song. I don’t know, I thought it was pretty good for what it was.”
“I think my performance was strong enough to still be in the competition,” he said. “I should still be there today.”
But standing next to Elise Testone, especially after hearing Jimmy Iovine’s harsh criticism and Steven Tyler pick him as the one to leave, he said, “I had a gut feeling it was going to be me.”
As for his tongue, which appeared looking bright yellow through many of his Hollywood Week performances, Jeremy laid the issue to rest. “Yellow cough drops.”
Jeremy said he tried out for “Idol” for the last five years, having been enamored with the show ever since he saw Kelly Clarkson crowned the winner in Season 1. This was his first time making it to Hollywood and beyond.
Though he wasn’t prominently featured until the end of the Hollwyood/Vegas segments, Jeremy quickly established a reputation for himself as a sweet, huggable guy. Despite his devastation with the elimination, today he was nothing but optimistic.
“I’m still devastated now, but I’m recovering and I know only the best things are gonna come from this.”
