The first big name to fill a vacant judge’s chair on “The X Factor” could officially be days away, with the Hollywood Reporter stating that Britney Spearsis in negotiations for fill one of the slots on the Fox show.
The report states that Spears’ fiance and agent Jason Trawick is negotiating the contract which could be signed “as soon as next week.” Spears has been linked to the show in various reports, reportedly expressing an interest in the job and definitely fills the requirements of series creator Simon Cowell, who was looking for a high-profile artist for the role.
The report also says that Spears is “undergoing extensive media training” before she joins Cowell and L.A. Reid on ‘The X Factor.’
Of course, that would leave one judge’s slot left to fill after Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger were dropped by the show earlier this year, as well as the hosting gig. Whitney Houston had reportedly also been in consideration for the show before her death.
