Zachary Quinto is joining Jessica Lange in returning for the second season of FX’s “American Horror Story.”
“Star Trek” star Quinto, who had a four-episode arc in the series’ first season, has re-upped for the Ryan Murphy/Brad Falchuk horror drama and will appear as a regular in the second season, the network confirms to TheWrap.
On the series’ first season, Quinto played Chad Warwick, one half of a gay couple that owned the house before the Harmon family (Dylan McDermott, Connie Britton and Taissa Farmiga), who were forced to sell the house at a loss due to the crashed housing market.
It’s not known what character Quinto will play on the second season of “American Horror Story” — aside from the fact that Warwick, along with the Harmons, was killed off in the first season, Murphy revealed late last year that the second season of “American Horror Story” will feature all-new characters, in a new setting.
According to Deadline.com, however, Quinto will play a male lead — one of two in the season — and will serve as the adversary of Lange’s character.
News broke on Thursday that Lange, who portrayed sharp-tongued would-be movie star Constance Langdon on the first season of “American Horror Story,” will return for the second season as an entirely new character.
