Bravolebrity Brad Goreski doesn’t just have designer fashions in his closet, he’s got some skeletons too.
The celebrity stylist featured in “It’s a Brad, Brad World” has a mad, mad history of drug addiction in his past.
Now clean, sober and styling the stars, Goreski spells out in his new book his “harrowing” addiction to cocaine back when he was a college student in Toronto, according to Us Weekly, who has an excerpt of Goreski’s memoir, “Born to Be Brad.” Experimenting with booze, coke, Ecstasy led to full-blown addiction by age 23.
“I needed to get help. It was early on a December morning. I was in our bathroom, staring in the mirror, and I didn’t recognize myself. Finally I felt the weight of the situation,” Goreski, 34, writes. “I told myself, ‘You can carry on like this, and the drugs will be your life.’ I wasn’t doing anything with my life except wasting it.”
Wasting his life away and desperate, Goreski called his parents from a pay phone: “I was crying in heaving sobs, saying that I needed to get sober,” he writes. After another spell falling off the wagon, he forced himself to AA.
“It was May 3, 2001. I was determined to stay sober,” Goreski writes. “This was day one: the first day of the rest of my life.”
