Dane Cook is taking his act to the small screen.
The “Good Luck Chuck” star has signed on to star in the NBC comedy pilot “Next Caller Please,” which will be executive-produced by “Weeds” veteran Stephen Falk.
Cook will play Cam, a “a brash alpha male DJ” at a satellite radio station who’s paired with a “plucky, feminist co-host.” “Hot Tub Time Machine” actress Colette Wolfe and “Men of a Certain Age” vet Joy Osmanski co-star.
The comedian signed an overall deal with the network in September.
Cook recently dipped his toe in the waters of network TV fare with a guest appearance on CBS’s “Hawaii 5-0.” His upcoming big-screen efforts include the horror comedy “Detention” and the action comedy “Guns, Girls and Gambling.”
