This is a good week to be Missi Pyle.
Fresh off of a victorious Oscars Sunday that saw Pyle’s “The Artist” scoop up five Academy Awards, including for Best Picture, the actress has scored a co-starring role in Fox’s upcoming comedy pilot “Prodigy Bully.”
Based on the one-minute films by Hank Perlman, the single-camera comedy centers around Audie Murphy, a child genius “who must learn to stop bullying others to get what he wants and start using his superior intelligence productively.”
Pyle will play Celeste, Murphy’s mother. “Glee” actor Mike O’Malley is writing and co-executive producing the project, as well as starring as Murphy’s father, Tommy. Hayley Holmes (“The Guild”) will play Audie’s sister Jackie, while Cody Sullivan and Ysa Penajero will play his schoolmates.
The role of Audie has not yet been cast.
John Wells, Paris Barclay, Andrew Stearn and Peter Segal are also executive-producing the pilot, which is being produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
Deadline first reported the news.
