With the official cast announcement just days away, we decided to round-up the names of the celebs spinning through the rumor mill as possibly tying on their dancing shoes soon.
What we know more of is who won’t be “Dancing with the Stars” this season than who will be.
Reality star and E! personality Giuliana Rancic reveals that she was approached to appear this season — and that she turned them down.
“Yes, I’ve been approached for the new season,” Rancic confirms. “I’ve been a big fan of the show for years,” she adds, “but sadly, my schedule at the moment would never allow for the grueling rehearsal commitment. Who knows, maybe Bill and I can be on the show together one day and go toe-to-toe for the trophy.”
Others who’ve reportedly turned down the show include blessed NFL star Tim Tebow, controversial politician Herman Cain and the one and only Dolly Parton.
As for those who were reportedly on the producers’ Want List? Former talk-show host Regis Philbin, current talk-show host Sherri Shepherd, troubled “Real Housewives” star Taylor Armstrong and another Kardashian — both mama Kris and papa Bruce have been mentioned — were all in the mix.
Last season, Paul Reubens aka Pee-wee Herman expressed his desire to go “Dancing,” and “Deadliest Catch” captain Sig Hansen has been campaigning to be on the show for years, but who knows if they made the cut for Season 14. The only name that seems unofficially confirmed, according to Hollywood Life, is singer Gavin DeGraw. Actor Ryan O’Neal, who was set for Season 13′s cast but had to pull out at the last minute due to injury, is also a strong possibility this time around.
Meanwhile, controversial pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy told “Entertainment Tonight” that he still doesn’t know if he’ll be asked back to the show this season, although none of the pros have been given official word yet either.
The new “DWTS” cast will be revealed Tuesday, Feb. 28 on “Good Morning America.” Season 14 of “DWTS” premieres Monday, March 19 on ABC.
