Yesterday, we told you about TMZ’s report that there was a mass contestant walk-off on “The Biggest Loser” after producers brought back an eliminated contestant. Now it seems that the issue has been settled somewhat, with TMZ reporting that the show has started production again, and continuing without two of the contestants who walked off.
In fact, the producers are mulling using the revolt as a plot point in an episode, says the gossip site. Makes sense to us; why wouldn’t the producers decide to heavily promote something like this? We can hear the ads now: “For the first time in ‘Biggest Loser’ history…. all the contestants quit!”
Never let it be said that reality producers don’t know how to make very sweet lemonade out of a bushel of lemons. We’re still wondering, though, why this twist got the contestants so ticked to begin with. Like we mentioned yesterday, this isn’t the first time “Loser” has brought back eliminated or otherwise banished contestants. Perhaps all the contestants were just to hungry and sweaty to think straight.
We reached out to NBC once again to see if they had anything to say, and they gave us another “no comment.”
