‘The Voice’ Winner Accepts Simon Cowell’s Challenge

What if your favorite singing shows had an epic crossover event? It could happen if Simon Cowell gets his way.
Cowell threw down the gauntlet last week, proposing a “Super Final” challenge, which would pit the champions of TV’s top singing competitions against each other for one ultimate winner. A face-off between “American Idol,” “The X Factor” and “The Voice“? Now that would be one serious Battle Round.
And at least one former champ is up for the challenge.
“The Voice’s” Season 1 winner Javier Colon, mentored by “Voice” coach Adam Levine, responded Monday to Cowell’s proposal.
“So @simoncowell recently proposed a face off btw Idol/Xfactor/Voice winners,” Colon wrote on Twitter. “I respect the other winners a lot but if U want a battle I’m IN!”
“Just letting U know that I’m down! #itsonyousir” Colon added, throwing the ball back in Cowell’s court.
“Idol” executive producer Nigel Lythgoe also piped up about his former judge’s idea: “@simoncowell suggests the IDOL winner should take on the voice and x-factor winners,” Lythgoe tweeted. “The problem is the Idol winner will be a star by then.”
Something tells me a “Super Final” challenge still wouldn’t settle the battle between these guys’ egos…
