Watch: O’Reilly and Lauer Debate Media’s Responsibility in Whitney Houston Story

After Bill O’Reilly gave his scathing commentary about Whitney Houston earlier this week, Matt Lauer had plenty of ammo to lob at “The O’Reilly Factor” host when he came on the “Today” show this morning to talk about the election and his new book “Killing Kennedy.” The two got into a spirited debate about what the media’s role should have been during the years where Whitney and her addiction problems were prominent in the public eye.

O’Reilly, in his “I’m right and you know it” way of speaking, contended that the media exploited Houston’s problems for entertainment purposes and did nothing to use her as an educational example to others or even use it as a means to get her help. Lauer felt that her issues were properly covered over the last two decades and it’s not the media’s role to intervene. We have to say that Lauer does a good job staying with O’Reilly, who also has a pretty solid argument.
